History
Nippon Cargo Airlines was established on September 21 1978 and started operations in 1985. It was Japan's first all-cargo airline. Over time, their network has grown to include many cities on three continents. Initially, NCA was a joint venture of shipping companies headed by Nippon Yūsen and All Nippon Airways. NCA's livery was similar to that of ANA. In July
2005, ANA sold its stake to Nippon Yūsen. NCA changed its livery in the meantime to a more unique design. NCA
The airline is owned by Global Logistics Investments (55.18%), Nippon Yūsen (13.8%), K_Line (13.19%),
Nippon Express (3.13%) and others (14.7%).

- NCA will be one of the launch customers for the Boeing 747-8 freighter.It placed an order for 8 Boeing 747-800F.
- In June 2006, it has confirmed an order for 2 additional Boeing 747-400F. These aircraft are due for delivery in 2008 and 2009 and will replace Boeing 747. Previously, it ordered 8 Boeing 747-400F, 3 of which have been delivered.
- NCA has purchased iCargo for streamlining their cargo functions and Revenue Accounting. The solution will be implemented in first quarter of 2008.
